Vertical Stamping adds beauty to enhance vertical surfaces, to your walls inside your home or office, a fireplace front or an exterior privacy wall by similar stamping and texturing techniques. The engineered cement-based wall overlay materials can be applied directly over virtually any properly prepared wall surface, including concrete and masonry, wood, cement board, plaster and drywall and even over blocks. These polymerised mixes are engineered to go on thickly from 8 mm to 20mm without sagging, allowing them to be make a decorative story with stone textures, wood-grain patterns, grout joints and many other carved or imprinted designs created with special stamps, texturing skins and sculpting tools. It can be pigmented or stained to simulate the appearance of natural stone, brick or other wall materials. It can also mimic designs of many other materials such as weathered wood, fossilized rock, botanical imprints, cut coral, lava rock and even bamboo. The material takes the impression of stamps well and is easy to sculpt or carve. You can also work it around corners and fit it into narrow areas.
Application of Vertical Stamping
SURFACE PREPARATION - A good surface Preparation is essential for success of the project. Embark on mock-up. Check all tools are handy and in good condition.
MIXING THE COMPONENTS - While mixing overlay materials, ratio of dry to liquid component is very important to see the consistency of the mix. If the mixture is too dry, it will be weak and could crumble away. If too watery, it will sag or run down the surface.
APPLICATION OF THE MIX - The application thickness will depend on the design required for carving. For deep stamp patterns or carved joints, you may need to apply the overlay to a 2-inch depth or more. Apply the material at a consistent thickness to ensure pattern uniformity.
APPLICATION OF RELEASE AGENT - Always apply a liquid release agent to your stamping tools to get a cleaner imprint and to prevent them from sticking to the freshly applied overlay.
CHECK LINE AND LEVEL - To keep placement of the wall stamps level, use a fixed point or edge such as a level floor or top of a wall. A string line will also work.
CURING - As Appropriate
COLOURING and SEALING - Apply protective colour, give dual tone effect to get a natural and weathered look. Seal the surface.
